The ER visit

Mom was busy cleaning out all the dead in her garden to get it ready to plant a fall garden. At first Dalton and Adam were playing in the yard with me then they came to hunt for bugs. They found several Roley poleys and when in the house to find a jar for them. Mom continued working and when she went in to check on them 20 minutes later she found a hand full of sucked on pills that looked like they had been popped out of a sudiphed packet. I had gotten the first aid kit down for Sage to put a band aid on one of Adams ouchy's and it never got put back. Any ways the two boys got into the medicine that was in the first-aid kit that had been put there for when we travel. Mom called poison control and poison control said they needed to go to the ER for evaluation. The kids laid on the gurney and watched cartoons. After spending a couple hours there the Dr. told us that they were fine and probably spit them out because they are nasty pills.

It was the first day of preschool for Dalton. He was released in time to make it to the last hour of preschool.

Mrs. Barton ended up not being able to teach this year so for the first few weeks Ryan had a substitute teacher. Finally they hired him a new teacher his name is Mr. Varga.

First Day of School

Ryan, Sage, Caleb and Gabe. Meeting to walk to school for their first day. This year Ryan is in 3rd Grade, and Sage is in 1st Grade. Ryan's was so excited to have Mrs Barton as his teacher because she did the knights of the math table when they passed off their times tables. Sage's teacher is Mrs Tate.

Look at the size of the potatoes and tomatoes that are coming out of my garden. The potatoes are some that Grandma Mona brought my to plan in my garden when she came down for Sara's baby blesing. The tomatoes are some that I started from seed. I am amazed they turned out so good.

This year for the dutch oven contest Grandpa Nelson, Grandma Mimi, Uncle Eric, Grandma Reese, and Mom all participated. Grandpa cooked pork ribs that were so good. Grandma Mimi cooked a cobbler, Uncle Eric cooked potatoes, Grandma Reese cooked a stir fry, and Mom cooked Pork Chops. Grandpa Nelson won with his ribs.

Ryan was too old for the chicken chase, but they let him in to help Adam. Dalton started the chase but couldn't catch anything so he started crying and if you know Dalton he doesn't cry quiet he bawls at the top of his lungs. A girl felt bad for him and gave him the rooster she caught. She Dalton very proudly walked this roster up to his Dad. Well his Dad didn't want a rooster so he gave it away and devastated his son. Dalton cried all the way home because Dad gave his rooster away. He finally decided he would save his money and buy a big chicken house so he could keep is next rooster.

Sage and Emily headed off to check out the chicken and rabbits that were entered in the fair.  

Rodeo

The kids lined up with their hands over their hearts as the flag is presented at the start of the rodeo. The kids are all wearing the shirts Grandma Reese gave them that say. What happens in the barn stays in the barn. Dad is busy helping Grandma Reese and Uncle Carry take money at the gate. Dad is very good with the foreigners that don't speak very good English.

Riding Sheep

Sage and Dalton rode a sheep at the Rodeo. Ryan wanted to ride, but was too old. Uncle Eric helped them get on. The announcer was impressed by Sage's cowboy foot wear. (flip flops) and had her show the whole crowd. They both got bucked off and it was a good thing uncle Eric was there to pick them up. What brave kids

For our family vacation this year we meet Aunt Lou and Uncle KJ in Las Vegas. My mom and Melissa and Sara went with us. I found as many free things as I could to do in Las Vegas. The first day we went to Out door world. It was like going to a wildlife museum they had lots of cool animal displays. Connected to Out Door world was the Silverton Casino. They had a large salt water tank. The kids had a good time looking at that.
